5 Best Woodworking Tools Review

5 Best Woodworking Tools Review

5 Woodworking Tools That You Should Buy Early

Today in this post we're going to share with you the 5 tools that I wish I would have bought in the beginning.

5 tools that I bought later in my woodworking journey, and then I use them and I realized that I was stupid for waiting so long.

So I don't want you guys to miss those things so I'm gonna share those five tools slash accessories with you guys.

Because hopefully, it'll help you out with your woodworking.

You can buy all these 5 tools from the Amazon link is also given below.

So Checkout the 5 Woodworking tools to buy early below:

1. GRR-RIPPER 3D Pushblock for Table Saws

5 Woodworking Tools That You Should Buy Early 2020 - TechQuantumHD.com

The first tool is Gripper it's a gripper from Micro Jig.

So the reason I think that this is a great investment to make is one I feel like early on people are a little bit more afraid of their tools than they are later on.

Not saying that you should never be afraid of your tools because they are powerful tools and they make things spin very fast and they can hurt you.

However, in the beginning, I think it's probably a little bit more prevalent the best push stick or push block or pushing device that I've used.

And what working is definitely this and there are a few reasons why it's got these little adjustment knobs and what that allows you to do.

So what does that allow well that allows you to cut real thin stock?

So you're not trying to push through with a push stick little tiny push stick or another piece of wood and it opens up this area right for your blade?

You can also adjust this, let's say that you needed to get more support close to the fence now.

You Chan right on this tool and then the other really really cool feature about it is if you're cutting a thin stick you can slide this down.

So the rides on your table and this rides up on your piece of wood.

And the other great thing about it is that you're constantly applying your downward pressure.

And you can go straight over the top of the blade and you can keep your hands away from the blade and always have something in-between.

So number one definitely I would say invest in one of these I've had this for quite some time.

There are actually accessory kits that you can buy and do all kinds of other crazy stuff so micro jig gripper tool number one.

2. SAM-PRO Dual Moisture Meter 2.0

5 Woodworking Tools That You Should Buy Early 2020 - TechQuantumHD.com

Item number two and I'll probably get scoffed at for this.

But I don't really care to be honest with you is a moisture meter this is one from Sam Pro Tools and essentially the way it works.

If I can get it open there we go you put these little prongs in the piece of wood that you want to test.

And it will come up with a reading on moisture content.

Why is that important and why am I recommending that to people that are starting out well.

If you're anything like me and 99.99% of everybody else that is woodworking you probably started off by buying your lumber at a local big-box store.

Won't say any names but they start with L and with OHS and an H and end with o m-- depot.

I know there are other ones in there too that's fine and the reason why I wish I would have had this sooner.

Is that while you go to those places and they do say that it's kiln-dried in many cases.

It might be kiln-dried but it's not down to an acceptable level.

Now just to be clear buying construction grade lumber to build furniture pieces is not what that lumber is designed for.

However, where this would come in super handy is if you go down there and you take the time to pick through.

And find some good pieces and you find ones that are much much lower on the level of moisture.

It's going to save you a lot of headaches in some of your early projects of finding that after like 2 days.

It warps or bends or twists really really bad you can save a few headaches by trying to pick out good pieces with some good straight grain as well as low moisture again.

3. WoodRiver Low Angle Block Plane

5 Woodworking Tools That You Should Buy Early 2020 - TechQuantumHD.com

Item number three for me is a low-angle block plane, this is a low-angle block pane for the most part very affordable.

And there's I mean really every company that does planes pretty much makes a low-angle block plane this one specifically is a wood river.

If you don't know is basically the woodcraft brand for tools and they are one of those companies that are relatively affordable.

If I'm being totally honest, I do have some really nice hand planes.

But I will tell you that the one that I use more than anything a hundred percent is a low-angle block plane.

Here's why for starters it's a very nice comfortable plane to use fits in one hand it's the one-handed operation.

And it's very easy and light and it's just really enjoyable to use the next reason extremely easy to set up it does operate on the same principles.

Like any other plane but for some reason, I can get this one dialed in much faster than any of my other planes and it just makes it really enjoyable to use.

The final reason is that if I have small little errors that I need to correct or let's say I have two boards that just barely didn't meet up in the right spot in a couple of places.

A couple of passes with this in that area and I can smooth everything out fixing small mistakes.

That maybe you make during glue-up or whatever it is it's really easy to correct it with this plane.

The other thing that I really like about it is I can soften edges with it without having to pull out my router.

If I just want to break up a sharp line I can just run this down the edge one time it's really really nice and the results are excellent.

4. DEWALT Router Fixed Base

5 Woodworking Tools That You Should Buy Early 2020 - TechQuantumHD.com

Number four is a palm router like you see right there palm router this is a Dewalt.

I've had this for quite some time and I use it more than any other router in my shop.

The reason that I am recommending a palm router is that the router for some reason is one of the most intimidating power tools for the people that I've talked to.

Even when I first started the first time I used a router it was a larger full-size router from Bosch.

And I was a little bit nervous using it the first time the benefit to having a palm router.

Is that it's very easy to operate with one hand typically it's gonna have smaller bits I find it to be a lot easier to control with all of those things put together.

I think it's a great router to start doing routing operations with a palm router that will do the vast majority of any routing.

That you needed to do especially when you're first starting out because mainly.

The thing that people use a router for probably the earliest on is to give something a different edge profile.

This is actually really where the palm router truly shines but if you needed it to do does or rabbits or anything else as long as you can get a quarter-inch shank router bit.

For that, you should be able to do those operations just fine.

So you can grow into it again like I said I have three routers I have one on my table I've got the big festival router.

And I've got this router and out of all three of those including the one on my router table the palm router is the one that I use the most.

5. DEWALT Plate Joiner Kit

5 Woodworking Tools That You Should Buy Early 2020 - TechQuantumHD.com

Finally the last item and definitely, in my opinion, the one tool that I really regret waiting as long as I did to buy.

And that is a biscuit joiner and this right here again is a Dewalt biscuit joiner.

Let me tell you why I wish I would have never waited to buy one like most people.

When I first started I was making tabletops and I was screwing him together with pocket holes and nothing would ever line up.

Just right I'd always get one shifting as I screwed in the screw then one day on Craigslist.

I saw a deal for a biscuit joiner and I said you know what I'm gonna go buy it came home testing it out and immediately wondered why I didn't buy it.

When I built my first table the biscuit joiner completely changed the way that I built tables from that point forward.

The great thing about a biscuit joiner is it's very very inexpensive for what it is I completely understand not everybody can afford a Festool Domino.

But being somebody that has both of them.

I will tell you while I do use my Domino very very often the majority of the time I still reach for my biscuit joiner on certain projects.

Final Thoughts

And would really make a difference on your projects if you're not already using them.

10 Woodworking tools Review - Every Woodworkers and Carpenters Should Own

10 Woodworking tools Review - Every Woodworkers and Carpenters Should Own

10 Woodworking tools every Woodworkers and carpenter should own

We've picked out 10 tools that I use daily and I feel every woodworker whether you're a beginner or you're someone that's been doing it for a while should own so let's go ahead and get into it.

I would like to discuss 10 Woodworking tools that I have and use daily that I truly believe every woodworker should have.

Before we begin don't worry they're not gonna cost you an arm and a leg all the tools that I've chosen are relatively affordable.

You can buy these tools from any woodcraft, Rockler Hyland woodworking, or any of the woodworking stores that you have in your area.

They're all pretty common or you can just simply order them online and if you're interested in doing that I'll go ahead and leave links to every single one of these products that I will show you about.

So check out all the must-have 10 Woodworking tools below:

1. Kreg Precision Router Table Set Up Bars

10 Woodworking tools every Woodworkers and Carpenters should own 2020 - techquantumhd.com

The first item is the setup blocks made by Kreg and when you buy them and they come in a very nice case and inside of it, you'll have set up blocks for anywhere from 1/8 all the way to half-inch.

These come in very handy when you want to set the height of your router bits table saw blade and it also is very good if you're trying to figure out spacing.

Because each one of these is perfectly 1/4 of an inch you can use these for spacing whether you stack them together to try to get the proper spacing.

Or you just have to use one to get a quarter of an inch these have come in extremely useful and I use them daily for many many things.

2. Grex Gauge 1-3/8-Inch Length Headless Pinner

10 Woodworking tools every Woodworkers and Carpenters should own 2020 - techquantumhd.com

The next tool that I want to show you is a pin nailer. Now a lot of people have Brad nailers this is a 23 gauge pin nailer and it's made by grex.

The reason why I'm recommending a pin nailer as opposed to a brad nailer is for the longest time.

I used a brad nailer and really just hated filling all the holes that they created because the hole is not huge but it's larger than it is on pin nailer.

So after talking to one of the reps from grex he talked me into getting a pin nailer and I'm really glad that he did it because I honestly don't ever use a brad nailer anymore.

Because there are two benefits to use in the pin nailer and one obviously is if you're doing trim the pin nailer works very well at making very small holes.

That is almost not even needed to be filled and the other benefit is that it has plenty of holding power for you to pin something for you to get the clamps on it.

So instead of having both guns even though I do have a brad nailer it really never gets used and I just use the pin nailer and this is an excellent pin nailer.

I've used a lot of brad and pin nail errs and I've always had issues with every single one that I've purchased except for this one I've never had a misfire.

And I have never had it fail to reach the desired depth it's extremely reliable and it has served me very well and has fitted all of my needs.

3. Festool CXS Compact Drill Driver Set With Right Angle

10 Woodworking tools every Woodworkers and Carpenters should own 2020 - techquantumhd.com

The third tool that I want to show you is a drill cordless drill that can use a right-angle attachment, no it doesn't have to be a festival.

There are plenty of other brands out there that sell right-angle attachments for the drills the thing that I want to point out is just how useful writing what a CH 'men are.

So I didn't think that I would really ever use it in the beginning but then the more I started doing cabinets drawers even things that anywhere you have a tight space.

Where you need to put a screw in using this one time made me realize just how valuable it is.

And the other thing that I love is having a compact very small drill because that helps get into tight spaces so definitely a cordless drill.

That has a right-angle attachment is almost a must and a necessity at least in my shop

4. REVO Fixed Jaw Parallel Clamp

10 Woodworking tools every Woodworkers and Carpenters should own 2020 - techquantumhd.com

Number four I want to highlight parallel clamps so these are Bessie I have a whole bunch of them.

There are many other companies I know Irwin I know jet and there are some other companies that do make these clamps.

These clamps are the most used clamps in my shop you do pay a little bit more for them as opposed to maybe some of the smaller clamp options.

But these are invaluable if you're somebody that does tabletops cutting boards any large services really anything the clamping pressure is phenomenal.

You don't get the bow in the bar itself because the jaws push together this way applying equal pressure all the way across the board.

And they just work really well there's no clamp that I would wreck and more than a parallel clamp

5. Festool Hold Down Clamp

10 Woodworking tools every Woodworkers and Carpenters should own 2020 - techquantumhd.com

The next thing I want to talk about is something that I think is genius.

And I just haven't seen on any other miter saws and that is this hold down clamp.

Now it's not the traditional hold-down clamp that you have to sit here and turn the one that pretty much nobody ever uses because it takes so long.

This is the easiest operation for a hold-down clamp that I have ever used and I actually use it every single time that I cut something.

So I can just use one hand one finger even push down my rod I lock this in place and it holds it nice and tight.

And it's not going anywhere makes using the miter saw much much safer.

It is a Festool exclusive product however I know that it is compatible with many other miter saws you simply turn it and you can lift it out and you can switch it to either side.

Then it goes right back in no problem it's such an easy device to use.

I'm really surprised that other companies have not switched to it I have had a couple kickbacks on a miter saw a few times.

When I was not using this or the hold-down since I have used this I have never once had a single kickback on my miter saw.

To me this is invaluable and it makes this whole system completely worth it and I highly recommend that you see if this is compatible with your miter saw and pick one up

6. JessEm Clear-Cut TS Stock Guides

10 Woodworking tools every Woodworkers and Carpenters should own 2020 - techquantumhd.com

One of my new favorite items that I've added to my table saw by far are these jetsam clear-cut stock guides.

The purpose of these is these rollers are at an angle inward and the reason they're at an angle inward is that they are designed to pull the material into the fence.

The second thing that's great about them is they only roll one way you can't roll it backward meaning the board can't shoot back towards you.

And if we're talking about safety that makes this table saw twice as safe for me to use and not have to worry about a kickback.

So far away usually that's not gonna happen however these will keep it up against the fence nice and tight.

And at no point will I be able to get this board out because the wheels are locked and it does not allow me to take it out and to push it through.

I simply push it the great thing about it is they're extremely easily adjustable you can just loosen it put it out of the way lock them back down.

And then you continue to use your table saw in normal operation

7. INCRA TINYT03 Precision Tiny T-Rule

10 Woodworking tools every Woodworkers and Carpenters should own 2020 - techquantumhd.com

The inker tiny tee and the great thing about the anchor tiny T is one it's extremely small - you can go in increments all the way up to a 64th of an inch so 1/16 1/32 and 64th of an inch.

Is all possible on this little incra tiny tee now they don't only have the tiny tee they have a much larger version not much larger but it is a six-inch ruler same exact style with the same exact capabilities.

They can also be bought in millimeters if you have taken the plunge and switched over to millimeters hands down my most used measuring device in the shop.

And it's great this costs twenty dollars and it is the most valuable measuring device that I have and my entire shop and I use it constantly.

8. SnapOn Bahco 6-Inch Cabinet Scraper

10 Woodworking tools every Woodworkers and Carpenters should own 2020 - techquantumhd.com

The next thing that I keep on me at all times is a card scraper I went a very long time without owning a card scraper.

But now that I have one I wouldn't want to have one it's a very affordable tool it works great.

The things that I use my card scrapers for the most if you notice I have one that's very beat-up and I have one that is brand new.

And so the one that's brand new I use specifically to clear out any ridges that may be on blue ups.

If I have two boards that just weren't quite perfect I can take that card scraper and I can scrape right down that edge.

And it'll take it off much like a hand plane would but in much smaller increments and really just fine-tuning little spots.

This is great to get glue out of corners or even down seams you can just take this card scraper run it right down get the majority of the glue up and it makes your clean up a lot easier

9. Incra & Woodpeckers Precision Square

10 Woodworking tools every Woodworkers and Carpenters should own 2020 - techquantumhd.com

So the next item is a good square it is extremely important to have a good square this is the one that I actually keep in my chopped apron at all times.

And then I have other larger versions (Woodpecker) I wanted something small for my apron however one just hangs on my wall next to my assembly table.

But having a good square is extremely important.

And the reason I like having a small one and I like having one handy all the time is because any time I'm doing a glue-up we're building anything.

Really I can simply pull this out I can check to make sure that my piece is square and I know with a hundred percent certainty that this is exactly 90 degrees.

The one specifically is the incra guaranteed square and then 2nd one like all woodpeckers products is an excellent option and a hundred percent I know that each one of these is perfectly square.

10. Briteree Woodworking Aprons

10 Woodworking tools every Woodworkers and Carpenters should own 2020 - techquantumhd.com

So for my last item, I want to talk to you about my shop apron itself and the reason why I want to bring this up I think it's an invaluable tool that every woodworker should have.

Because if you are tired of putting stuff down that you use all the time and you spend 15 minutes trying to locate it get a shop apron.

This has been the biggest change in productivity for me in my shop there are multiple different versions that you can get out there from multiple different companies.

The great thing about this is that I got to set it up exactly the way I wanted it so I have all of my tools where I need them where I want them at all times.

And my stuff is always readily accessible I never have to put pencils down again.

I never have to drop my measuring tape and leave it somewhere if you want something that is gonna make you more productive.

And work faster in the shop and just stop the annoyingness of always looking for the thing you put down.

Final Thoughts

That is all I have for you guys all the products that I show you in this post are just tools that I truly believe in and have really made a huge difference for me in the shop.

And they're all relatively affordable and you can get just about anywhere.

As I stated earlier I will leave all the links above to all of these items if you want to go check them out and find a little bit more details.

if you have any comments or questions or anything please feel free to leave those down below in the comments section.

35 Woodworking Tools to have If you're a beginner

35 Woodworking Tools to have If you're a beginner

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Have

We've collected the 35 best Woodworking tools for you.

These are 35 very useful Woodworking tools and if you are a Woodworker or Carpenter then you must have these Woodworking tools.

Most of the items are under 50 dollars and there's even a lot of things in sort of the 10 to 15 dollar range.

So there's something for everybody including a stocking stuffer for your favorite woodworker.

You can buy all these 35 Woodworking tools from Amazon, all the links are also given below.

So check out the 35 best Woodworking tools below:

1. Garage Flooring

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

These 1 foot by 1-foot tiles are super durable.

They're designed to park a car on top of and something like a heavy tool chest or a piece of machinery is no problem.

I had a really rough garage floor when I moved into my house it was bumpy and had oil and glue stains all over the place and this made a huge difference.

Not only does it look a lot better here but it's also really easy to clean.

The underside is contoured so it evens out a really rough garage floor like I had and it also lets fluids pass through it.

So if you spill something it won't be a problem.

They snap together so I think I put my entire floor together in about two hours.

They're about two dollars and thirty cents of the tile.

So they're a little bit pricey but for me, this was a great investment and about four years later I'm still really happy with it.

2. Sawstop Splitter & Blade Guard

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

I do have a soft stop blade guard and splitter on my old Dewalt table-saw.

And the reason I got this thing is that I wanted something that would give me dust collection.

So normally even with the dust collection under the table.

There's still quite a bit of dust that's gonna fly up into your face and this thing collects the dust in front of the blade so that that doesn't happen.

It also gives you the added safety of course of a splitter I wasn't a hundred percent sure it would fit my saw.

When I ordered it but when I got it I just used my old splitter as a template and cut it with an angle grinder.

And a metal cut-off disc until it fit perfectly in my saw.

I can't guarantee you this will work on your saw but you could always try it and send it back if it doesn't look like it'll fit.

3. Star Drive Screws

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

Next up stardrive screws, it's such a simple thing I don't know why it took me so long to figure this out.

But I finally switched out all of my general-purpose Philip Drive screws that I keep around the shop for a good variety of stardrive screws.

They're just so much easier to use I feel like the jump from slotted screws to Phillips screws is about the same from Phillips screws to these star head screws.

Especially if you're using an impact driver they're easy to drive in and they're even easy to remove if you want to change something.

So I put a variety pack in the link for you below.

4. Yonico Table Edge Router Bit

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

When it comes to router bits something that I've gotten a lot of questions on.

Is this kind of swooped or whatever hand-shaped looking round over bit that you can get on Amazon from a company called Yonico.

But what I really like about it is that it gives you an edge on a piece of furniture or detail on something that isn't your typical round over.

So it looks really unique really different and it's only 25 bucks for this thing.

See at Amazon Here

5. Yonico Large Rabbet Router Bit & Bearing Set

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

One of my new favorites is actually from the same company Yonico on Amazon.

And it's this rabbeting bit and it comes in a box set with a variety of different bearings.

So you can get different depths on the rabbit super handy I've been using this a lot lately instead of my stock dado set on the table saw.

This one's only about 35 bucks.

6. Parts Cabinet

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

Something else I get so many questions about in my shop is what I call my hardware store.

This thing is solid steel very heavy super durable and it's 16 inches deep so it holds just about everything I could ever need regularly.

It saves me so many trips to the big-box store, I bought it used on Craigslist and I always assumed.

It was some kind of old army surplus thing but I'm super excited.

Because I actually just found this exact same unit being sold still brand-new on Amazon.

So check the link below go check it out and get one for your shop.

7. Stretch Wrap

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

Here's a really simple one-stretch wrap this stuff is great I use it for all kinds of stuff around my shop.

Stuff like you know I'll have a bunch of scraps of hardwood leftover that's really nice and I want to save.

But maybe they're smaller so you can just bundle them all together.

With this stuff very quick and easy to use and throw them on the shelf they'll stay together and they're just easier to keep that way.

Stuff like dowels and even packaging if you ever want to send something this stuff is just a lifesaver.

8. Ridgid Oscillating Belt Sander

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

This is a Ridgid oscillating spindle and belt sander if you're new to the woodworking scene.

And you haven't heard of these before these are a huge bang for your buck kind of power tool.

My favorite use for it is smoothing out all the saw marks after cutting curves on a band saw.

When I looked it up just now other reviews were a little mixed.

But I'm not really sure why I mean they're not perfect but I wouldn't be able to live without mine.

They are an excellent addition to your shop.

See at Amazon here

9. Dewalt Oscillating “Multi” Tool

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

One of my all-time favorite handheld power tools is the oscillating multi-tool invented as far as I know.

And made famous as the fine multi-master a bunch of different brands makes these now.

This is my brand of choice but basically, it's an oscillating blade that just goes like this really really fast.

And they're great for cutting just about anything in really tight corners.

You can turn its blades in different ways there's a bunch of different attachments including things like sanding attachments and stuff like that.

I find that even the cheap ones that you can get from Harbor Freight in terms of blades work great on this tool.

They work especially well on things like drywall and soft materials they go through drywall like butter.

So for things like cutting an outlet box or something like that they're just amazing.

I use these just for all kinds of things I wouldn't even expect to.

But because I have it I just grab it and use it these are great tools.

10. Lumber Rack

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

I recently bought these lumber racks on Amazon and I put them up in my shop.

And I've had a few people ask me about them so what I can tell you is they're awesome.

I used to keep all my lumber out in a shed in the backyard and ever since I put these up.

I've been able to keep everything on these racks they hold a ton of weight and they were really easy to assemble.

So I was up and running in about an hour.

11. Deadman Foot Switch

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

This is a power tool accessory I wouldn't want to live without it's a Deadman switch.

And I put a similar version that I found on Amazon in the link below but it comes with a cord that you would connect to the wall.

And one that you would connect to your tool I use this mostly for the scroll saw.

Because on the scroll saw you want to keep both of your hands on the workpiece to hold it down.

This means that you don't really have a hand for turning on and off the saw.

Another place that's great to use is on a drill press because there are times when you want a handhold something.

And you can use this foot pedal to just start and stop the tool with your foot so you can keep your hands on the workpiece.

See at Amazon here

12. Jorgensen Handscrew Clamp

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

These are called wood hand screw clamps don't think of these as a clamp think of these as a tool.

Because I use these for holding things down on the drill press.

I use them as jigs on the table saw they weren't great and just really weird circumstances that you wouldn't think of otherwise as a jig or as a holding tool.

I keep a couple different sizes around because they come in handy for different applications but I would definitely recommend these in your shop.

See at Amazon Here

13. Deadblow Hammer

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

Deadblow mallet especially for assembling furniture tapping things together without marring the wood.

These things are great I have two different sizes but I rarely use the bigger one seems to do just fine.

Is a 1 pounder but it has like shot or sand or sore lead or something in the middle of it you can hear it shaking.

And that actually keeps it from bouncing off your workpiece or you know it really transfers the energy well to what you're trying to put together.

So you can tap on something and it'll push things together instead of just pounding things together so these are awesome.

14. Senco Pin Nailer

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

If you already have an air compressor and a few nail guns you have to try a 23 gauge pin nailer.

These things are incredible this teeny tiny little pin doesn't have a head completely disappears in hardwoods softwoods whatever.

But it actually has quite a bit of holding power so for fine pieces of furniture boxes things like that are incredible.

The 23 gauge pin nails come in a variety of different lengths different guns.

Will have a different range of lengths that they can actually shoot I think mine will go from 5/8 to 2-inch.

So that you can get these pretty long I also use them a lot for making jigs.

See at Amazon Here

15. BIC Mechanical Pencils

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

Here's another really simple one that I just wouldn't be able to live without and that's mechanical pencils.

I buy these by the 20-pack and just put them everywhere in the shop so that no matter where I reach for I can find one.

And these are the points seven millimeters which are the ones that I feel like they're strong enough so they don't break but they still leave a really fine marking line.

You can get these just about anywhere but just like everything else I put a link below just to make it easy for you.

16. DeWalt Random Orbit Sander

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

if you've never used a random orbit sander you're really missing out not only are these things very powerful they can remove a lot of material very quickly.

But they also leave a very smooth finish the random part means that not only does the disc spin but it also kind of does this motion.

So instead of a bunch of scratch sanding circles.

Every one of those little scratches kind of cancels each other out to give you such a perfect finish.

17. Hook & Loop Sanding Block

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

Not only that but they're also very convenient.

Because you can switch sandpaper by just using these hook and loop discs which are really easy to change out.

So going from a rough grit to a fine grit is really quick and easy once again.

Because I'm a Dewalt guy mine's yellow.

But if you're gonna look for one of these make sure you get one that you can connect a dust collection hose to.

These things make a ton of dust but with this connection.

The holes in the sandpaper allow the dust that can actually get sucked away from the tool.

And a lot of the time I can use one of these without even wearing a mask.

They're so efficient at dust collection if you hook them up to a shop back.

18. RAS Sanding Pad

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

This simple little sanding block has got to be one of my all-time favorite tools in the shop for only 10 bucks.

Especially if you have one of those random orbit sanders.

But even if you don't it uses those same hook and loop discs and they just go on here so easily.

So switching grits is really easy but I actually have two of these so I can use two different grits at the same time.

They're made of foam so they're actually kind of squishy they're easy to use.

And they're very forgiving they can get into corners but they're also wide enough to do a big flat panel.

You got to go get at least one of these things I love it and they're only ten bucks.

Another great accessory for a random orbit sander is this little round foam pad that actually goes on and then you put your sanding disc on there.

And what that does is allow you to go over contours and it'll kind of shape and form itself to whatever you're going over.

So things like rounded edges inside or outside corners this little pad is just a great accessory.

19. Oneida Dust Deputy with 10-Gallon Steel Drum

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

This is my Oneida dust Heavy Deputy cyclone and because I do all of my dust collection with a regular shop vac I could never live without this thing.

It's incredible how much dust will go in this and almost no dust will go into the shop back.

I'll probably empty this thing five times before I even have to open the shop back to clean out the filter.

It makes a few different versions of these things including one that's just the cyclone.

One for the above exact same unit and one for this one that's a little bit smaller and more affordable that's just a five-gallon bucket.

21. BucketBoss Bag

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

A tool bag so this is the bucket boss gate mouth and I probably had this thing for over 10 years.

It's held up really well and doesn't show any signs of wear even though I've used it for so long.

I have all of my tools within my hands reach around my shop in drawers ready to go.

But if I want to go somewhere like my parent's house to help them with a project or something.

It's nice to have a good sturdy bag that I can load up with tools and take with me.

22. Glue Bot Bottle

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

This is called the glue bot glue bottle and for only about 8 bucks it is incredibly useful.

So with the normal glue bottle, you turn it upside down to use it.

And when you set it back down all the glue goes back to the bottom of the bottle.

So the next time you go to use it if it isn't full it takes a while sometimes for that glue to go down.

This pretty much solves that problem and comes with a variety of different tips.

So if you're doing wide boards narrow fine work all kinds of different things you can use these adapters.

I haven't owned this very long but after using it a few times I would never live without it again.

23. Rare Earth Magnets

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

Rare earth magnets are something that I use everywhere in my shop.

I stick them to all my machinery so that I can keep things like rulers and specialty tools close by.

But this little package that I bought on Amazon recently I'm really happy with it's a variety pack with three different sizes.

And you can also use them for things like projects when you have box lids and things that you want to stick together.

Probably about eight bucks for the variety pack they're an awesome accessory for the shop and I'm sure you'll find all kinds of other uses for them as well.

24. Incra Router Lift

It's great for things like jig-making and any time you need an instant bond.

27. Popsicle Sticks

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

Another really cheap and simple accessory for the shot that I wouldn't want to do without our popsicle sticks.

They're not just great for crafting I find all kinds of uses for these things including stir sticks, glue applicators, and even shims.

One of my favorite thing to do is take a pair of diagonal cutters and clip the end off so that I can modify the shape of it for whatever I need.

Sometimes you can even twist them and get kind of a sharp edge for only about eight bucks you can buy a box of a thousand and that should last you pretty much forever.

28. Sterrett 6” Ruler

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

This little six-inch ruler from Sterett is definitely a splurge coming in a little over 20 bucks.

But what I love about it is that it has really fine markings and a matte finish so that you can read it in any light.

It also has graduations that go up the edge of the ruler so you can set it down flat on a table saw or a router table and measure the height of your bit or blade.

But my favorite thing about it is that on the back it has tenths and hundredths of an inch.

So it's almost like using the metric system but you're still in inches which are something I use a lot in my shop.

It's a little pricey but for something I grab all the time to do accurate work it's my favorite ruler and I think it's well worth it.

30. Silicone Pastry Mat

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

This is a silicone pastry mat that I found on Amazon and I love it for glue-ups.

I can just clamp something up and anything that falls on this thing peels right off.

Doesn't matter if it's wood glue epoxy whatever it cleans off so easily and then I just fold it up and throw it back in the door.

31. Freud Thin-Kerf Ripping Blade

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

These are my two favorite tables saw blades the first one is the thin kerf glue line rip blade and there are a few reasons I like this blade.

First of all, I started using this when I had a really old underpowered saw.

And because of the thin-kerf, it's not removing as much material so it doesn't take as much power to cut through hardwoods with this thing.

The other reason that's nice is if you have a really expensive material and you need to maximize the yield that you're gonna get out of it this blade will not waste as much.

So you can get a few more cuts out of that little bit of material you have left.

32. Freud Combination Blade

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

There are a couple downsides to this blade one of them is that it is a dedicated ripping blade.

So if you do any cross-cutting on your table saw you're gonna have to switchblades before you do that.

But the other thing is because of the thin-kerf the downside to that is that you can get a little bit of wobble especially.

If you're doing big thick cuts in hardwood the reason I like this blade is it's a full kerf and it's a lot stiffer.

So I found you don't get any of that wobble and the cut can come out a little bit cleaner in certain types of wood.

The other nice thing about this is that it's a combination blade so you can leave the same blade on your table saw.

And do joinery cross-cuts ripping whatever you want it also has that raker tooth that's flat.

So you can get a nice flat bottom to your cuts if you're doing dedos.

Both blades are really good quality and last a long time I highly recommend these for super-smooth cuts.

33. Supermax 16-32 Drum Sander

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

This is by far the most expensive thing on this list I know it's a major splurge.

This is the 1632 drum sander by Super Max and I know it looks a little weird because it's on a short stand.

But these things are beasts of a machine in a small shop and there's a reason they call these things time savers Nuff said.

34. In-Outfeed tables for Supermax

35 Best Woodworking Tools to Buy - TechQuantumHD.com

If you've ever used double stick tape or on your shop for jigs or router templates.

But you've been frustrated with your results you might be using the wrong kind of tape.

I would never use the foam kind or anything thick but this is carpet tape it's perfectly flat and very useful around the shop.

The best way to use it I find is to take an Exacto knife cut from the middle out.

And then rip it the rest of the way once you stick it down use that same Exacto knife to pry up the corner and the rest peels right off.

But this stuff is incredibly strong I wouldn't use too much because you might not be able to get anything apart.

But just use a few little strips on your workpiece and then it will peel off when you're done.

And by the way, as much as I love my star bond for all kinds of uses around the shop I don't do the CA glue and masking tape trick.

Because I just think this stuff is quicker and easier to use gives just as good.

If not better of a bond and I don't have any risk of squeezing out with glue getting on a workpiece.

And I also don't have to smell the fumes that unfortunately are a side-effect of CA glue.
